Exploration - Life Long Learning and Family Time
I encourage parents to explore the wonders of nature with their children. We are very lucky to live in an area that offers so many opportunities for exploration. Huntington Gardens in Pasadena and the Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanical Gardens, the California Science Center complex, the LA Natural History Museum, and the George Page Museum-La Brea Tar Pits are wonderful places to visit.
If you like hiking, there are many trails nearby that you can explore; Aliso Canyon, Rocky Peak Trail, Hummingbird Trail, Towsley Canyon... just to name a few.
Please OBSERVE but do not disturb the wildlife environments that you see.
Remember, when hiking on trails you are in wildlife areas and must be aware of the risks associated with this type of
activity. Many types of wildlife can be found in our area including rattle snakes, mountain lions, owls, hawks, gophers, frogs, squirrels, coyotes and others. You hike at your own risk. Please be sure to bring PLENTY OF WATER with you ANYTIME you hike.
